Online Groups

Group therapy supports people to work through difficulties by interacting with a therapist and a group of individuals with similar challenges. In a safe, confidential setting, each group member can share personal experiences, feelings and difficulties and receive feedback and support from the other group members.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF GROUP THERAPY?

Research demonstrates the effectiveness of group therapy to treat a variety of conditions. Some of the benefifits of group therapy might include:

• A supportive environment to discuss difficult emotions and experiences

• Improves self-awareness and motivation to change

• People feel less alone when surrounded by others with similar struggles

• Learn to build trust and self-esteem

• Opportunity to improve interpersonal and communication skills

• Ideal setting to practice new skills and behaviours

To gain the maximum benefit of group therapy, individuals must be willing to actively participate in the group. The more open and honest you are, the more you will get out of the group experience. Group therapy is often most effective in conjunction with individual therapy.
